Power Transformers Core

Nanocrystalline cores are now being used in many applications. It is a low-cost alternative to Nickel Iron and has higher permeability and saturation flux density than soft ferrites. This makes it the material of choice for common mode chokes and current transformers.

Application

High-frequency transformers for auxiliary power supplies of rail transit vehicles, insulated power converters, and inverter welders. High-frequency boosting transformers used in high-voltage power supplies for medical equipment and electrostatic precipitators.

Performance features
The use of nanocrystalline soft magnetic material with low loss and high saturation flux density reduces the loss of high frequency transformer, and reduce the size and reduce the weight (compared with Mn-Zn ferrite, Table 9.1).
